Water Laboratory

Save the Water™ Research Laboratory

We are currently in the process of raising funds to establish the STW™ Research Laboratory. This Research Laboratory will initially be staffed by six scientists and a support staff to perform known water analysis and to begin research on new, possibly dangerous chemicals that we do not have methods to identify. Eventually, it will operate as several research labs within STW™, independent of one another, growing in their respective technologies and cooperating with each other to implement technologies for the development of water treatment methods.

The STW™ Research Laboratory will utilize the following technologies:
• Analytical Chemistry
• Microbiology
• Electrochemistry
• Engineering
• Filtration and Separation
• Nanotechnology

STW™ Laboratory Goals

The STW™ Research Laboratory will engage in a number of critical, ongoing activities to accomplish our mission, including:

  • Conducting research leading to the discovery of causes and cures for chemically-caused diseases.
  • Publishing reports on water contamination and its health effects on an on-going basis.
  • Providing a home base for the Save the Water™ AquaSquad™, a global team of scientists, students and interested individuals with a common goal of saving our water by finding sources of contaminated water, gathering samples, and reporting back to the lab.
  • Engaging in an educational program to teach clean water awareness to younger generations worldwide.
  • Calling currently ambivalent corporations to task by alerting the media to sources of drinking water contamination initially sourced by the AquaSquad™.
  • Co-branding with other organizations for a Save the Water™ endorsement.

STW™ Laboratory Equipment

When complete, the STW™ Laboratory will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, including gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS), which is capable of detecting and characterizing saturated and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons and many other organic compounds. In addition, the laboratory will be equipped with inductively coupled plasma (ICP), for detection of metals, and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Tests on water and other sample extractions will be performed with extreme accuracy with continued research to identify chemical contaminants that are considered toxic to humans and the environment.
